Jeffrey Leflein, M.D. completed his pediatric internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Children’s Hospital, Newark, New Jersey. His fellowship in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology was completed at the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine, Denver, Colorado.
He is board certified in pediatrics, allergy and immunology. He has been in a hospital based private practice and staff allergist at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Leflein is also on staff at Chelsea, Beaumont, Botsford, Providence, and Oakwood Hospitals. He has been awarded Top Doc in Hour Magazine 2012, 2013, and 2014.
He is the principal investigator on numerous clinical trials researching asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatology. He continues to be actively involved in clinical research through his research center, Respiratory Medicine Research Institute of Michigan.
Dr. Song is Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in Chemical Engineering and his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and in Pediatrics at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and his allergy fellowship at the world renowned National Jewish Health system in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Song joined Allergy and Immunology Associates of Ann Arbor in 2004.
Dr. Song has a keen interest in trying to explain your or your child’s medical condition because he believes that the more you understand the disease process, the better the partnership will be to discuss and choose the pathway to recovery that best fits with your philosophy and lifestyle. He is known to deliver a wealth of information quickly, but his goal is for you to walk away from your appointment with a better understanding about your medical care. He has a specific interest in Food Allergies and Asthma/respiratory concerns but also frequently deals with Eczema and Hives.
In his free time, Dr. Song enjoys cooking, traveling, photography and designing radio controlled airplanes.
Dr. DeMore grew up in Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for both Undergraduate and Medical School. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at University of Maryland in Baltimore. She finished her combined pediatric and adult Allergy and Immunology fellowship at University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Dr. DeMore has been board certified in Allergy and Immunology since 2008. She joined the practice in 2013 and treats both children and adults. She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and Michigan Allergy and Asthma Society.
Harvey L. Leo, M.D. is a board certified allergist in practice with Allergy & Immunology Associates of Ann Arbor. He is also Assistant Research Scientist in the University of Michigan School of Public Health Division of Health Behavior and Education & Center for Managing Chronic Disease. Dr. Leo completed undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame and medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine. After a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, he was accepted into the internationally renowned Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Fellowship program at National Jewish Medical and Research Center.
Dr. Leo's research interests center on the impact of allergic diseases in the pediatric population and community. He has studied issues related to food allergies in the childcare and school setting. He initiated and coordinated the Ann Arbor School District's Food Allergy Planning Commission. This resulted in implementing a district wide food allergy response and plan for a Michigan school district serving over 16,000 children. His subsequent initiatives include educating and guiding accredited childcare facilities in appropriate and systemic approaches to food allergies. He is also working with the Department of Health and Human Services on a possible national approach to the childhood food allergy issue to include Head Start programs.
Dr. Leo is a member of the University of Michigan Pediatric Asthma Disease Management Program. He is also involved in work with the Center for Managing Chronic Disease on a Dissemination of Asthma Education in Elementary Schools in Beijing, China.
Dr. Leo is highly engaged with educating the community on food allergies, anaphylaxis and other allergic disease. As such, he has served as a Medical Advisor to local food allergy support groups, including COFAF. He has also been involved with food allergy education and advocacy efforts in collaboration with national food allergy nonprofit organizations.
Dr. Taylor Lin is board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Lin earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan, where she stayed for medical school. She completed her pediatric residency through the University of Colorado in Denver where she stayed for her combined adult and pediatric fellowship training in allergy and immunology. There she had specialty training in food allergy under serval leaders in the field.
Dr. Lin treats infants, children, and adults with a variety of allergic and immunologic conditions. Her clinical interests include food allergy, drug allergy, asthma, allergic rhinitis, and hives. She is the medical director of the food oral immunotherapy program, offering evidence-based treatments for infants and children with life-threatening food allergies. She prioritizes providing holistic care for patients and values trusting patient-physician relationships and accessible patient education.
Dr. Lin lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and two children. She is an active member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology as well as the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Dr. Shankar grew up in Michigan and completed her undergraduate and medical school studies at The Ohio State University. Subsequently, Dr. Shankar went on to the University of Pittsburgh to complete a residency in Internal Medicine and a combined pediatric and adult fellowship in Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Shankar treats both adults and children with allergies and immunologic conditions. She has a keen interest in patient-centered medicine and strives to provide timely and personalized care.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology.
She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology as well as the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Farheen Osman who joined Allergy & Immunology of Michigan in February of 2024.
Dr. Farheen Osman grew up in metro Detroit and spent most of her life in Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy. She then went on to pursue her medical education at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency through the Detroit Medical Center Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. She then completed her fellowship training in allergy and immunology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.
Dr. Osman treats both adults and children with allergic and immunologic conditions. Her clinical interests include food allergy, asthma, and eczema. She prioritizes patient-centered care, patient education, and fostering a partnership between patient and physician.
Dr. Osman is board-certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and is board-eligible for the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Osman lives in metro Detroit with her family and cat. In her free time, she enjoys social justice advocacy, cooking/baking, and home design.
She is an active member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology as well as the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Maggie is a board-certified Physician Associate by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Associates. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Maryland College Park and completed the Physician Associate program at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia. She then went on to complete an Emergency Medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and subsequently worked as a staff PA in the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center Pediatric Emergency Department until joining Allergy and Immunology Associates of Ann Arbor in 2023. During her time at Johns Hopkins, she had the opportunity to treat adult and pediatric patients in both allergic, asthmatic, and immunologic emergencies.
Maggie treats adult and pediatric patients with allergies, eczema, asthma, and immunologic conditions. She has a keen interest in cultivating long-term relationships with patients, providing continuity of care, and managing patients urgently when needed.
She is a member of the Michigan Allergy and Asthma Society.
Anna was born and raised in West Michigan. She received her undergraduate degree at Grand Valley State University. She then ventured to Columbus, Ohio where she received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Ohio Dominican University in 2016.
She spent the first 7 years of her career working in Internal Medicine as a Hospitalist PA at Ascension Providence Novi and Southfield campuses. Anna joined Allergy and Immunology Associates of Michigan in August 2023.
She will be seeing patients of all ages for their asthma, allergy, and immunology needs. Anna looks forward to providing more access to patient care in direct collaboration with the other Allergy and Immunology Associates. She is a member of the Associates of PAs in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology; American Academy of Physician Assistants; Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants; and Michigan Asthma and Allergy Society.
In her free time, she enjoys golfing, traveling, and walking her goldendoodle named Webster.
Kelly is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing at the University of Michigan and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner, Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree at the University of Michigan. Kelly joined Allergy and Immunology in May of 2024. This is her first role as a Nurse Practitioner. She was previously a floor nurse in Boston at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Michigan Medicine for 6 years in many different specialties including Telemetry Medicine and Orthopedic Trauma.
Her passion for allergy and immunology lies within her own personal experience with seasonal allergies, asthma, and food allergies. In fact, she has been a patient of Allergy and Immunology Associates of Michigan since age 2.
Kelly treats adult and pediatric patients with allergies, eczema, asthma, and immunologic conditions. She is very interested in working alongside patients with these different conditions to help improve overall quality of life and develop long-lasting relationships with patients.

An allergist/immunologist is specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage many allergic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency problems. After completing medical school and graduating with a degree, physicians must undergo three years of training in internal medicine or pediatrics and pass the exam of either the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).
Internists and pediatricians interested in becoming an allergist have at least an additional two years of study known as a fellowship, in an allergy/immunology training program and a total of an additional nine to twelve years of training beyond a bachelor’s degree.
Dr. Leflein, Dr. Leo, Dr. Song, and Dr. Lin are American Board of Pediatrics certified, as well as the American Board of Allergy and Immunology certified.
Dr. DeMore and Dr. Shankar are American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology certified.
